Kapuso vs Kapamilya over Marky Cielo

The unexpected death of young Igorot actor Marky Cielo, is seen as a factor in boosting several GMA-7 programs in the past days. Discovered during the Season 3 of the network's highly popular Starstruck competition, Marky Cielo has been a regular star of GMA-7. It is no wonder that the network "milked" what it could from the tragedy. In one of the SIS shows this week, an hour long tribute / cry-festival complete with interviews and emotional singing was offered to a very curious international audience that were just so hungry for news on the young actor.
Not to be outdone, ABS-CBN also did its part in covering the wake of the Kapuso star. Television crews of the Kapamilya network apparently disregarded protocol by not being sensitive to the requests of Marky Cielo's family particularly in not taking any shots of the actor's body during his wake in Sinto, Bauko. This incident apparently prompted the actor's mother to have yet another breakdown. Saturday shows however that were shown in ABS-CBN didn't feature any supposedly "stolen shots" of the actor. Still, this didn't stop GMA-7 from throwing some barbs at the rival network's insensitivity during its weekend afternoon shows.
As a fellow Igorot watching from afar, I can only shake my head and murmur, INE, KEDENG! (ENOUGH!) There is a death here, let's not turn it into a circus. Milking a personal tragedy just to increase ratings and have bragging rights run contrary to Filipino values that we so proudly claim we have. Where is delicadeza? Where is pakikisama? Is everything really all about the money?
It is exactly one week since the country was shocked by the death of Marky Cielo. The Kapuso and Kapamilya networks are expected to continue to outdo each other during today's afternoon gossip shows. Again, sensationalism and segments that cater to the tear glands will dominate the programming. At the middle of it is a grieving family who just lost the eldest son. Do the networks really care? I highly doubt it.

Actually, kasalanan ng ABS-CBN iyan. Ang bastos nila. Walang respeto. Walang modo. Nag-attempt pang kuhanin ang mukha ni Marky sa loob ng kabaong. Kapal talaga.
hay naku... i hate abs-cbn especially the buzz. so unethical. natatawa talaga ako sa knila kanina kc ang daming palusot!!! so disgusting noh. basta wait na lang ang magiging statement ni mommy mildred kung nainis ba cya talaga sa crew ng abs-cbn. kasi respetuhin na lang nila yung family. and by the way, hindi nman nila talent un ah. bakit sila ba... madamot din naman and channel 2 ah!!!o yan fair na..hehehe
mga ambisyoso!!! inggit lang kasi wala kayong igorot star mga kapamilya. ed maghanap na lang kayo. meron pa dyan mangyan, ita, badjao na pwede maging artista. ed dun sila magsearch... hahaha
I saw the GMA interview of Marky's mother. Actually hindi ako fan, at hindi rin naman ako mahilig manuod ng ibang GMA programs maliban sa Eat Bulaga at the 24 Oras. Kaya lang, kahit paano I can sympathise with the mother. Katarantaduhan talaga ang ginawa ng ABS crew and I think ABS-CBN top management should make a public apology for the stress they caused this grieving family especially the mother.
Parang walang pinagaralan yung crew ng ABS. Dapat siguro sa kanila pinahabol at pinakagat na lang sa mga aso.
And for the producers of The Buzz... ugaling hayop ang ipinakita nilang kawalang-respeto sa mga nagdadalamhati at hindi man lamang pinagbigyan ang hiling ng pamilya. Ang masakit pa, may mga balibalitang diumano ay nangagaling sa ABS camp para intrigahin ang pagkamatay ni Marky.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Wala hiya talaga.
i really hate ABS CBN, grabe gagawin lahat para makakuha ng ratings kahit pa makasakit ng damdamin ng iba, plastik sila at pera pera lang, baket nong c FPJ ang naka burol d nila ipakita ang totoo mga tao pumupunta at kng ano nagaganap sa burol. ilan naba ang may namatayan pamilya ang pinasama nila ang lobb? may kinikilingan kc sila at d nag sasabi ng totoo pano kaya sila nakakatulog sa ginagawa nila. dito sa qatar dati TFC ang malakas pero mula ng mag ka GMA halos lahat lumilipat na sa GMA7.
Marky Cielo is a true Igorot and is very proud of his heritage. Although the network wars have gotten into the nerves and sensitivity of Marky's relatives, I'm sure Marky would have understood it since he was a part of it when he was alive. But I agree with you that the rival networks should have shown some respect and sensibility in dealing with sensitive issues like untimely deaths so as not to unnerve the grieving family of the deceased. isang dahilan kng baket hindi napili best station ang ABS CBN dahil narin sa kawalan nila ng respeto sa damdamin ng iba. hindi sila totoong kapamilya. si ogie diaz grabe din kng tirahin at intrigahin ang totoo dahilan ng pag kamatay ni marky... so what ano ba paki alam nya? kumita lng ng pera kahit dna dapat halungkatin talagang pinipilit hukayin. kng ano man reason ni marky hayaan nyo na lang sya, sino kaba ogie diaz? diyos kaba? hayaan mo ang diyos ang humusga wala kang K! paayos mo dentures mo ng magkaron ka ng K! ikw kaya mamatayan ng anak at ipakita pa sa buo madla ang mukha na labag sa kalooban mo.

Ang masasabi ko lang diyan. OK lang naman na magreport ang mga taga ibang media. Kasi trabaho nila yon na kumuha ng balita. Kaya nga sila tinanggap ng maayos ng pamilya ni Marky. Basta lang sundin ang kahilingan ng pamilya na wag kunan si Marky sa mukha.
Wala akong pakialam sa alitan ng ABS at GMA. Pareho silang magandang estasyon. There are shows that i like on both. They just need to be more sensitive about the family that they are reporting.
sorry for abs kasi marky is an exclusive artist of gma... kaya mga abs wala na kasi maipalabas na balita sa station nila..palibahasa laos na mga artista nila...anyway.. condolences to marky's family... Marky rip... we'll gonna surely miss you...

i think GMA has done their part in respecting everything within the situation and paid due recognition to the person. from what i read, even their station were surprised to see the high ratings of the shows that featured Marky, be it a replay of marky's show, remembering him or whatever. I didn't feel that there was any exploitation of the situation (unlike what i felt back at rico yan's wake and burial). i even noticed that SOP didn't have their usual dance numbers last sunday as respect to the young actor, though they didn't broadcast the reason. i don't think GMA was thinking of rivalry at this point. because i'm sure they themselves are mourning at the loss. they even had a farewell ad solely for marky which i found really sincere. as for ABSCBN's statement re the accusation, ang masasabi ko lang, hindi nila sinagot yung accusation. naghuhugas kamay lang sila. samantalang yung nanay na ni marky ang naoffend. that is obviously an evasion of the issue.
...kesyo ABS OR GMA... they're both the same...
