Igorot Links for this Weekend

Some interesting weekend reading on blog posts regarding Igorots.
- 3 lady bloggers made a mention on "big Igorot legs". One going as far to say that her Igorot mom's legs "suggested their ancestors were built to do manual labor outside—they could easily squat and wash by the river". Ah, vanity. See Cheri Lucas, Ubbog Cordillera, and Kalawakan.
- Howie Severino's blog post on Igorot Cowboys.
- Adventurers from Monash University feature the Easter Weaving Room's role in preserving traditional Igorot weaving.
- A spa now offers dagdagay, described as ancient foot massage from Mountain Province. See Hot City. Naganas met-a nan menpa-dagay.
- See Sadiri's brief commentary on why Igorots are still considered primitive amongst Filipinos.

Do you have any Youtube videos of the Igorot Cowboys?
looks like dagdagay is becoming the latest craze. and apparently, the best dagdagay in Manila is found in Sanctuario sa Malate. all for 755 per hour. http://www.sanctuario.com.ph/ver03/traditional.asp. i was supposed to accompany cha to a spa and she chose to go to sanctuario but once i saw the dagdagay on the menu... i mean... won't kababayans laugh at me if i tell them i went to a spa that offered 755/hour dagdagay?
of course you can get better dagdagay for as long as you want for 50 pesos with any random kid in sagada. you might get some "exhibition" if he is one of the good ones with "exhibition" including stick action on the toes, between the toes, rolling the sticks, etc.
sanctuario also offers gisgisto by the way...
jack's rice, P755/hour for a dagdagay? that's bizarre. give the cash to a good kid, and you get way higher quality of a foot massage. or, teach your kids / nephews instead.
gisgisto.com sounds like a good idea for a website. a promo slogan would be like, "relaxing head massage - lice removal for free". hehehe.
