The Evolution of Igorot Tapestry Video

A couple of good and longish videos on the recently held SMSSAFF Reunion in Chicago was posted in Youtube by user Maltreb0044. The first video below was on The Evolution of Igorot Tapestry that was taken during the cultural night. The second video was taken on the Saturday Eucharist that honored the Missionary Teachers to St. Mary's School of Sagada. If you look real closely on the second video clip, you can actually see me on the line to receive Holy Communion. Hope you enjoy the videos as I did.

Stroll n Sagada: Video Presentation of Sagada Images

I got this video presentation from i-dekkan, a loyal commenter of this blog. At a time when most Sagada photographs in the Internet are from local and foreign tourists, it is refreshing to find a recent presentation of Sagada images by an i-Sagada (someone from Sagada). The photos were taken by an alitao (uncle) who grew up in Sagada, is currently based in New Jersey, and who visited Sagada this past March. The quality of the photographs are high, and it evoked plenty of warm memories for me despite the dreary Chicago evening rain. It's hard to explain but the photographs taken by a kailyan (townmate) touches the heart in a way the other recent Sagada photo galleries fail to do. Despite the rather cheeky ending, this presentation is very well done and presents Sagada in a distinct manner that only those who grew up in the town would ever know.

Best Sagada Videos in YouTube

If I were to sell Sagada as a tourist destination through videos, I would use 5 of the best YouTube posts that I feel best demonstrate what Sagada is all about. 3 of my top five best Sagada videos are from the Biyaheng Pinoy blog. One is from a cousin based in Australia, and the other is from a young Sagada lad. Here are my best Sagada videos in YouTube. Longer clip that showcased activities during the annual Sagada fiesta. I used to lead Bomabanga's drum and bugle corp.

I always get sentimental with this song. Video clip starts with a bus going to Sagada. In a way, it captures what I feel each time I am at Dapdapanan to start the winding ascent to my beloved hometown.

This movie clip showcases a spectacular Sagada traditional event.

Biyaheng Pinoy's Sagada Video

A well edited video on Sagada. It starts with photos taken at dawn, and ends with photos at dusk. In between are snapshots and clips of hanging coffins, waterfalls, pine scenic views, terraces, the church, and local life. Very beautiful. Umipa-aga.

At the end of the clip is a chocolate colored double house. That's the house I grew up - only then, it was just one house with a very well maintained lawn. The background music made me want to book a flight back home.
